D.A.R.E. : Kicks For Kids

Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E) Halton is pleased to announce an exciting partnership with Oakville native Mike Vanderjadt of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys. The Kicksfor Kids program will help to raise much needed funding for the Halton D.A.R.E. Program, which is delivered in partnership with the Halton Regional Police Service. This highly acclaimed program gives thousands of school children in the region the skills they need to avoid involvement in drugs, gangs and violence. D.A.R.E. was founded in 1983 in Los Angeles and has proven so successful it is now implemented in over 41 countries around the world.
"I am proud to support the Kicks for Kids program and to contribute to making a positive difference in the lives of children in Halton Region this season," said Vanderjagt. "My roots are still in this community and one of my priorities is aligning myself with local charities that give back to the community. The Kicks For Kids program supporting D.A.R.E. was an excellent fit.”
The veteran NFL kicker has a long history of supporting children's charities and will personally contribute $100 for each successful field goal he kicks for the Dallas Cowboy’s this regular season. “Sponsors are now needed to make this program a real success” states Sgt.
